President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured Kenya's allies in the fight against corruption that he will not give up until he combats the vice which has crippled Kenya's economy.
For months now, Uhuru has been firing shots at public servants, warning that they will be sacked if charged in court over graft related matters.
Last week, Uhuru replaced Henry Rotich as Treasury Cabinet Secretary along with Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge, over alleged embezzlement of Sh21 billion in Kimwarer and Arror dams saga.
While hosting EU and United Kingdom delegation at State House on Wednesday, Uhuru vowed that he will ensure those plundering public resources are brought to book.
President Uhuru Kenyatta assured that he will not relent in the war against corruption. The President emphasized that no effort will be spared in ensuring that the vice that has been choking the country’s economy is completely destroyed.
“We will remain focused in the fight against corruption. We hope that every institution will play its part to make this war successful,” he said.
The President spoke today at State House, Nairobi when he separately bid farewell to outgoing European Union (EU) Delegation Ambassador Stefano Dejak and British High Commissioner Nick Hailey.
Last week, Deputy President William Ruto, who has often been accused of sabotaging fight against corruption, asked politicians to desist from interfering with corruption prosecutions.
“Do not politicise the fight against corruption. The responsibility of fighting corruption has been given to independent institutions by the Constitution,” said Dr Ruto.
