Mrs. Hellen Obado will likely face detectives on Wednesday after she was repeatedly mentioned in the ongoing probe.

Last week, Mrs. Obado jointly held a press conference with the Migori County boss where they asked detectives to expedite the investigations.

"My lovely husband and I would like to send condolences to the deceased family," she wrote on Facebook.

A detailed statement by Obado to Kisumu DCI narrates how Mrs. Obado busted the two during Devolution Conference in Kakamega.

The First Lady is said to have warned the governor against succumbing to pressure from Ms. Otieno who'd booked a room at Imperial hotel.

Lawyer Cliff Ombeta however dismissed claims that the First Lady may have been working in cohorts with detained aide Michael Oyamo to eliminate the student.

"She doesn't even have Oyamo's contacts. She only got them the other day when he was arrested."

Interestingly, a close aide to the First Lady, whose Toyota Fielder is said to have been used to kidnap the slain student, is being interrogated by detectives.

The car, which was impounded by Oyugis Police, had its driver also arrested.
