Talk about rocking the campaign! The opposition chief Raila Odinga stole the show when he launched a brand-new Hummer H3 during the 2007 General election campaign.
As his competitors where moving around with almost similar types of vehicles, Raila was outstanding with his high-hyped red Hummer.
Odinga’s big machine made the crowd and his supporters follow him happily shouting, “Hummer! Hummer! Hummer!” as he waved back at them. Indeed, it was a sign of power and strength since the vehicle was meant for war and moving in rocky places.
The vehicle was praised by many Luo artists such as Onyi Papa Jay, Otieno Small among others. Any artist releasing a new song to praise Hon.
Odinga or his party could not miss to sing about the Hummer and his song would be definitely a hit.
However, after the disputed elections, the vehicle was nowhere to be seen. The former Premier only made an appearance with his luxurious Hummer while attending ODM’s National Delegates meeting at the Bomas of Kenya on 18th of December 2008.
After the appearance, the vehicle that costs millions of shillings was out of the public eyes and many people left asking where is Raila’s big red Hummer H3?
