Barely days after a traffic police officer was captured in a video collecting bribes from a tuktuk in Kismayo road, another video recording has surfaced exposing a rogue officer demanding 'something' from a truck driver.
In the video captioned 'Garissa Hyena traffic' the traffic officer can be heard saying he was under dry spell and that wanted he wanted something to eat.
" Aah msee lete kama soo hivi tukakule tuko njaa sana. Huwezi kosa kwani gari limetoka wapi? Mimi sitaki kubwa," the traffic officer can be heard demanding for the bribe in Swahili language.
Traffic police officers manning Garissa roads have continued taking bribes from motorists amid concerns that they largely contribute to visible security lapses in the region. For instance, security officers manning border points have adversely been mentioned for collecting bribes from foreign immigrants mostly from Somalia who later turn out to be terrorists.
Amid the concerns, the police oversight agency IPOA is yet to issue any statement concerning the twin incidents.
