Nyamira County residents have something to smile about after the county government announced that Sh55 million has been allocated to upgrade roads across the county.
County Secretary Eric Onchana, in a statement, insisted that the County Government under the leadership of Governor John Nyagarama will expand feeders roads in the county.
"The court case which has been derailing the governor's performance ended. I wish to let Nyamira people know that Sh55 million will be used to open and upgrade roads across all corners of Nyamira," he said.
Mr Onchana reiterated that once the roads are expanded and upgraded transportation of people and agricultural products to various markets in Nyamira and outside Nyamira will be easy.
He appealed to Nyamira locals to ignore Governor Nyagarama's rivals.
"Those criticizing the governor are desperate with intentions to get political mileage. It is time the county boss to serve the electorates," he added.
The county secretary also noted that plans are ongoing for the drilling of boreholes to start in the county.
"The county will drill boreholes especially across all markets in Nyamira. Water shortage will come to an end once the boreholes are drilled across the county," he said.
