He said that each parliamentarian in charge of a constituency is allocated a 5 million shillings yearly fund for development, terming it sufficient if well utilised.
‘’Kila mbunge anapewa million tano ya maendeleo katika maeneo bunge, naamini tukijipanga vyema tutaweza kuleta maendeleo (if utilised well, we can do a lot with the 5 million allocated to us),’’ he said.
He added that Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) are as well allocated 20 million shillings per year for the same purpose, including bursaries and other developmental initiatives.
He, therefore, called upon leaders in the two capacities to concentrate on service delivery or carry their own burdens after failing to better the lives of their subjects.
‘’Tufanye kazi na tuwache kulaumiana na baada ya miaka mitano wakenya wataamua ni nani atabaki na nani ataenda nyumbani (Kenyans will judge us at the end of our terms basing on our performance. Therefore, let's concentrate on service delivery and shun blame games),’’ added the former Nairobi City Council Mayor.
