Jonathan Bii has declared to ditch KANU and opted to the party that will be used by Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.
Speaking to exclusively Hivisasa, Bii famously known as Chelilim hinted that he will be in Uasin Gishu gubernatorial race in a battle royale to succeed incumbent Governor Jackson Mandago.
“I have been in politics for the last twenty years using a party that was not favoured in the region, thus I failed in every parliamentary election. This time around, I am opting to something big in the county,” Bii said.
The former KANU party member unsuccessfully bid for Eldoret North and Soy parliamentary seats in 2002, 2007, 2013 and 2017 respectively.
Last week on Saturday during the burial of Mandago's elder brother, Kinyor Mandago, Boo told mourners that he has realised that the party which he has been in is the problem.
“In all the contests that have I have engaged, people have no problem with me neither ballot boxes used; people had issues with the party that I use,” Bii opined.
Bii is the latest contestant to have expressed his interest to vie for the county's top seat in the county alongside Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki (Chama cha Mashinani), Ambassador Julius Bitok and current county speaker David Kiplagat.
