Chief Justice David Maraga risks losing his position at the Judicial Service Commission if a petition filed against him sails through.

In his petition, Mr Yussuf Ibrahim Dimbil argues that Maraga is unfit to serve in his current post.

He claimed that Maraga is tribal and has been attending political rallies against the wishes of Kenyans.

Through the law firm, Charles Koech & Associates, he said that Maraga lifted a quote yet the ruling on the case had not been delivered.

He noted that Maraga referred to the Laikipia gubernatorial petition while delivering the ruling on the Wajir governorship seat yet the case had not been fully settled at that time.

According to petitioner, the quote had been changed by the time the second ruling was made.

"The recent conduct of Hon Justice David Maraga falls short of the requisite standard of the occupant of the Office of the Chief Justice,"  reads part of the petition, as quoted by Daily Nation.

The petition comes at a time when four Supreme Court Judges risk being sent home after they were accused of engaging in corrupt dealings.

The four are Justices Jackton Ojwang, Mohamed Ibrahim, Njoki Ndung’u and Smokin Wanjala.
