The two, Nancy Chemutai and Risper Cherop had allegedly been having a beef for some time.

According to Zipporah Nangila who is also a member of the chama, Chemutai had deliberately refused to serve food to Cherop during the meeting. She, later on, hauled insults at Cherop.

"Chemutai was the one hosting the meeting. During lunch time she served everybody except Cherop whom she called a busybody," Nangila narrated.

An altercation between the two had then ensued. Things began getting out of hand when Chemutai called Cherop a husband-snatcher. Angered by the insult, the later charged at the former with blows wrestling her to the ground.

"At one point there was an alleged relationship between Chemutai's husband and Cherop. Ever since that day, the two don't see eye to eye," Nangila revealed.

What begun as a simple argument graduated into a physical fight. A lot of property in Chemutai's house was destroyed.

Things could have settled easily when Cherop left the house, but Chemutai followed her outside and attacked her.

Members of the Chama were forced to cancel the meeting and reschedule it.
