Speaking during an exclusive interview on KTN News’ Point Blank last night, Baraza, however, said that it is unfortunate that Kenyans do not have the courage to stand up and speak about the increased cases of bribery in the Judicial arm of the government.

She insisted that the vice can only end if Kenyans stand up and condemn the same in public forums.

Mrs Barasa noted that Kenyans who claim that they are aware of corruption incidences in the court’s system, are not ready to relay information to the investigative authorities so that they can come to the bottom of the matter with immediate effect.

She pointed out those incidences of corruption will only be rooted out if those with information come forth to share the same.

“Corruption in the Judiciary has always been there and that is why Kenyans wanted it reformed. But the problem is that our people are not ready to come out and point the corrupt judges,” she said.

She also faulted Law Society of Kenya (LSK)  for what she termed as the failure to hold integrity.  She insisted that LSK needs to step in the fight to ensure the Judiciary is clean.

Barasa also lauded the courts for doing well in some areas. Baraza further said that the delay of cases results from the laxity in different departments.
