Ong'era who is eyeing the top county job, has been initiating projects in the region. Although this programs are mainly aimed at empowering the youths, there might be hidden ambitions behind the sacrifices, as she may be going for the gubernatorial seat in 2022 elections.

Speaking during the inauguration of the program, Ong'era got the attention of many residents as she warmed their hearts through her act of sponsoring youths for the training.

Some of the youths including the disabled, who had lost hope in life due to the poor backgrounds they come from, had a reason to smile after Ong'era sponsored their learning in the National Industrial and Training Authority (NITA).

"I had told you earlier that I will not give you fish. I will give you a net to fish for your own fish. That is why we are sending you to NITA from every ward. This is the first phase which is going to learn in order to acquire self-reliance. We do not have enough jobs in the market but we can create them. We are sending you to become fashion designers, automotive mechanics and others," Ong'era said.

Ong'era who calls herself 'Ng'ina Banto' (peoples' mother) has started building networks and working towards her political ambitions ahead of 2022.

However, the race will be tough as there have emerged many politicians having the same ambitions, who are equally preparing a strategy on how to take over from the current Governor James Ongwae.
