Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has said Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka doesn't depend on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga for endorsement in 2022.
Muthama said Kalonzo is a national leader who has the power and ability to charm Kenyans into voting him as the president in 2022.
He said Kalonzo's graft-free life has made him a darling among Kenyans.
"Kalonzo is a respected national leader with all the needed capacity and abilities to lead this country. He too like Raila, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto is among the top influential politicians in the country," Muthama said.
Muthama said Kalonzo and Raila depended on each other to succeed.
He said both of them knew they couldn't trounce their opponents if they were not united.
Muthama rubbished claims that Kalonzo was rising on Raila's popularity.
He said Kalonzo is the Ukambani's political kingpin and every leader should recognise that before criticizing him.
Muthama said Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua's wish to run against Kalonzo in the next elections will be commiting political suicide.
"Kalonzo is the certified Kamba leader, any other leader trying to insinuate otherwise is just day dreaming. Mutua running against Kalonzo in the next elections is just like a race between a donkey and a gazelle, I don't need to tell you who will win," Muthama added.
He urged Ukambani leaders to support Kalonzo's presidential bid stating that he is the only leader from the community who is able to clinch the presidency.
