Adan Wehliye Keynan is the Alda’s Member of Parliament (MP).
Keynan is among the long-serving politicians in North Eastern Kenya.
Born in 1968 in Wajir County, Keynan joined active politics in 1997.
He has served as MP from 1997 to date.
He is among vocal politicians from North Eastern region and a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto.
Political pundits argue that Keynan will be among politicians to watch out in Northern Kenya in the 2022 succession politics.
Pundits say that the MP could gift DP Ruto, North Eastern votes in 2022.

Keynan studied at Rhamu Primary School in Wajir between 1978 and 1985 when he sat for his primary certificate exams.
Between 1986 and 1989, the vocal lawmaker studied at Wajir High school and Garbatula High school.
In 1994, Keynan graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education (Arts) from the Moi University.
In 2009, Keynan graduated with a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Nairobi (UoN).
Keynan is among MPs opposing the push to amend the 2010 constitution.
