Police in Kisumu County are holding a 15-year-old boy over allegations of defiling a girl.

The incident reportedly happened in Nyalenda Slums, Kisumu Central Sub County on Wednesday.

According to Citizen Digital, the class eight boy was caught in the act by his mother.

The mother then reported him to the parents of the girl, a nursery school pupil in one of the local institutions.

This later led to the arrest of the boy by officers from the Nyalenda Police Post where he was later held.

The defilement was confirmed by medics at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital where the girl was rushed to for tests.

The boy was also taken to the same institution for tests, as the law enforcers begin a probe into the issue.
