While speaking on Friday when Kibet was taking over from the former police commander Bernard Muli who was transferred to Kisumu, Kigochi said that Kibet should not sleep on the job.

"Muli has been working well with junior officers to fight crime. I therefore, expect you to continue with his good work so that we don't witness high crime cases in the region," he said.

The county security boss assured that his office is open for junior officers to walk in and discuss security matters.

"Kibet and other junior officers should feel free to walk into my office to suggest on the possible ways of improving security. I will not turn away anyone from my office," he added.

He added that criminals should either surrender to police or stop committing crime before the law catches up with them.

Mr. Kibet who until his promotion was serving as the administration police commander  based in Kisii said he won't condone crime.

"Crime won't be tolerated. I will offer my best," he stated.

Muli also commended Kisii residents for cooperating with police officers to end crime.
