Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has said the NASA coalition is still a live, contrary to claims that the Raila Odinga's led political outfit is dead.
Muthama said the alliance is not dead as some politicians have been quoted saying in the media.
Speaking in Tala, Matungulu sub county on Monday, Muthama said no affiliate party has presented a memorandum to quit the coalition.
He said top NASA leaders are still together and pushing the coalition's agenda.
Muthama said the coalition has been dormant following the March 9 handshake between president Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
“As far as I know, NASA is still intact and keen on pushing its electoral reforms and justice agenda forward,” he said.
Muthama said the handshake may have disrupted the coalition's activities but the quest for electoral justice and reforms is still on course.
He said affiliate parties are concentrating on building themselves ahead of the 2022.
Muthama, however, said the coalition could dissolve if affiliate parties pull out.
There have been claims that NASA is dead following the fallout between Raila Odinga and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.
Two weeks ago, Wetangula was quoted saying NASA no longer exists.
However, according to Amani National Congress Party leader Musalia Mudavadi, NASA is still ‘alive’.
A section of Wiper MPs have been piling pressure on Kalonzo to quit the alliance and independently market his 2022 presidential bid.
