Police in Bomet are looking for a man accused of killing his father after an argument.
The 30-year-old reportedly killed his father at their home in Chepngaina Sub Location by hitting him severally.
He reportedly got angry after his father began reprimanding him after returning home drunk on Saturday.
According to Bomet Township Location Chief Reuben Ngetich, the accused is a habitual petty offender.
The administrator added that he had just been released from police custody shortly before the incident, reports the Standard.
He noted that the old man died on the spot, before neighbours who rushed to the scene after hearing his screams could do anything.
Chief Ngetich added that the reason for the scuffle between the man and his father is yet to be established.
On his side, Bomet Sub County Police Commander Geoffrey Walumbe said that his officers are in pursuit of the suspect before he is arraigned to face murder charges.
The body of the deceased was moved to the Longisa Sub County Hospital Morgue.
