A suspected witch is nursing serious injuries at Nyamira County Hospital after she was beaten by angry residents.
This happened on Friday night at Gesure area in Nyamira County.
Residents said the suspect, Rose Okindo,is among the notorious witches who have been giving locals sleepless.
“Rose is notorious witch in the area. She was at her neighbor’s before people descending on her,” said Michael Nyamoko.
Nyamoko said an alarm was raised and members of the public arrived on time.
They then descended on her in kicks and blows before being rescued by a Nyumba Kumi official.
The official Brenda Okioma, said the woman could be a past tense.
“Residents wanted to lynch her but we rescued her luckily. She is currently being admitted in Nyamira County hospital.
"We will get to know what exactly what she was doing at her neighbor’s homestead once she will be discharged from hospital,” she noted.
Joseph Nyamechu, area assistant chief warned locals against taking the law into their hands.
The administrator urged the public to surrender criminals to authorities from where they will be taken to court.
