Speaking in Lugulu village in Butula sub-county where they attended the burial of former councillor George Kwena, Wetangula said that time has come for the Mulembe Nation to unite and produce a President.

According to the Ford Kenya party leader, Mudavadi has what it takes to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is completing his second and final term in office, if he receives the support of Western and other regions.

He also noted that other communities in the country have been voting as a bloc and Luhya’s should emulate the same for the sake of their presidency.

Wetangula also said that the unity of the Luhya nation will shift the political gears when Uhuru leaves power.

“It’s not by accident that we all here. Our colleagues from Central Kenya have always pulled together. I am ready to support my brother here Musalia and vice versa to ensure that we have a realistic chance,” said Wetang’ula, as quoted by Daily Nation.

The Senator shared a platform with Mudavadi and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa where all of them promised to unite the community as they put in place measures to enable them to take power.

Wetangula parted ways with Raila after which he lost his seat as Senator Minority leader.
