Garissa Township MP Aden Duale is expected to appear before the parliamentary group probing claims that some MPs were bribed to reject a report of contraband sugar two months ago.
Duale will appear before the Powers and Privileges committee chaired by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi next week.
The MP has been linked to the bribery allegations on grounds that he allegedly lobbied some MPs to reject the sugar report.
Duale allegedly told some MPs that they should not support the report since it had allegedly named President Uhuru Kenyatta’s allies.
On Wednesday, Naivasha MP Jane Kihara adversely mentioned Duale’s name alleging that he influenced some MPs to vote against the report.
The Garissa Township MP had denied lobbying MPs to reject the report.
In July, MPs rejected the sugar report on grounds that it was shoddy with many gaps.
Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa later alleged that some MPs received bribes to reject the report.
The MP claimed that he was offered a bribe by Wajir woman Representative Fatuma Gedi but rejected it.
Gedi later denied facilitating the MPs alleged bribery.
