Kimani Ichung'wa, who is current Kikuyu constituency MP and who left Alliance High School in 1994 has joined the list of leaders from Central Kenya being fronted to deputize Ruto when he takes his first stab at the presidency in 2022.

Ichung'wa is a close ally of Ruto and is among MPs from Central Kenya who have dedicated their time to campaigning for the DP in the Mt Kenya region ahead of the polls.

According to Daily Nation outspoken lawmaker is in the list of 15 leaders from which Ruto may pick his deputy from when he vies for the country's top seat.

Ichung'wa who appears on a political talk show on Radio Jambo every Saturday about a month ago said he was prepared to do everything that it takes to ensure Ruto succeeds Uhuru.

He bases his support for Ruto on the fact that the former Eldoret North MP helped Uhuru garner votes from Rift Valley at a time all Kenya's top leaders abandoned Uhuru in the run-up to the 2013 elections.
