Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has told President Uhuru Kenyatta to brace himself for a strong opposition from Kenyans over his new proposal on fuel tax.
Onyonka was speaking during an interview at Citizen television on Monday night.
"Uhuru should know Kenyans do not want the 8 percent on fuel tax. All they need is affordable fuel," he said.
Onyonka questioned President Uhuru Kenyatta plans to slash CDF and Affirmative Action funds meant for county MPs.
"Uhuru's government should find an alternative of getting money to carry out its operations and not taxing poor Kenyans heavily. Not even Jubilee MPs are going to support his new proposal on fuel prices because he said he will slash CDF funds," he added.
