In a tweet on Thursday, hours after Kenyans on social media came out to call for justice for Gedi, Passaris insisted on the importance of upholding character and values.

“You don't have to put one down to support another. Values are Values. Character is Character. Right is Right. Wrong is Wrong. No grey lines,” Passaris wrote on her Twitter handle.

Passaris who has in the recent days been involved in public altercations with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, was also reacting to a tweet which encouraged Kenyans to rally behind demanding justice for Fatuma Gedi instead of focusing on the Passaris-Sonko drama.

“This is what we should rally behind now, #JusticeForFatumaGedi and not this Hullabaloo of Esther Passaris and Mike Sonko,” a tweet by Tribeless youth which attracted the attention of Passaris read.

Earlier on, Passaris had retweeted the story about Fatuma Gedi using hashtags that condemn gender-based violence.

Passaris has been the subject of discussion on social media after Governor Sonko accused her of being corrupt. She has however asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to look into the allegations.
