Religious leaders have met DP William Ruto in Nairobi.
The meeting was convened by leaders from the catholic church.
Speaking at the event on behalf of other leaders, Cardinal John Njue said that leadership must ensure the people on the ground see the sense of ownership and inclusivity in the government.
"The thing is to to encourage you, even from the other level politically, help our peope to have that sense of ownership," Njue said.
On his part, the deputy lamented that there was propaganda from within political and religious circles to blackmail him and taint his name in public.
"This a lot of blackmail and intimidation about us who are Christians and who are serving in the public; but for the record, I am a Christian first. I am a politician and a deputy president after that. So you can challenge me about anything else but you cannot challenge me about my Christianity," he said.
