Speaking on Saturday, Magwanga added that the voters failed to pick the right persons, noting that they made the wrong leadership choices from the top all the way down.

He now says that the lack of development in the county is partly to blame on the leaders, and largely to blame on the voters for voting blindly.

"Homa Bay voters elected the wrong people in all positions, from the governor's position all the way down. This is why we are now suffering under lack of development," he said.

Magwanga who lost to Awiti in both the elections and in his appeal against the governor's reelection was speaking on Radio Nam Lolwe on Saturday morning.

He said that his attempts to bail the people out by offering his advice directly to the Governor have been futile after he took issue with his calls for Awiti to fire his corrupt officials.

He said that the county boss turned against him even though he led his campaigns in 2013, at a time when Magwanga was still the Kasipul parliamentarian.

"I once reached out to him some years back in an attempt to offer my advice but he shut me down immediately I told him to fire his corrupt officials, it appears he is unable to sack them," he said.

He said that he will be taking another shot at the top seat in 2022.
