For one year now, Deputy President William Ruto has visited the region over 20 times with Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko being his coordinators.

Dr Ruto has also been financing a team of leaders led by the two politicians in his bid to lure over one million votes from Kisii and Nyamira Counties.

But in an interview on Thursday, the former Kitutu Masaba MP dismissed the trips, insisting that Gusii region remains a bedrock for ODM party.

He cautioned residents against voting for Ruto, who he accuses of launching non existing projects across the region for the past seven years.

"He has a right to move around but importantly, he's wasting his time. This is an ODM zone and those are basic facts. He won't definitely sail through," he said.

Bosire added: "He has been launching ghost projects and until now, they are yet to start. He thinks that our people are fools. We are keenly watching."

Among the projects which Bosire wants addressed include Bonyunyu Dam project, Kemera-Amabuko and Kemera-Keumbu road which have taken years to be completed.

But those supporting Dr Ruto have often accused Bosire of diverting attention, with Nyamoko dismissing him as a 'crybaby who does not want to embrace reality'.

"He's in ODM and let him concentrate on his party. He should also concentrate on campaigning for gubernatorial seat instead of attacking Ruto."

Mr Bosire is one of the closest allies of ODM leader Raila Odinga. He's planning to run for gubernatorial seat in 2022 but he's yet to formally declare.
