Residents of Shanzu Mwembeni Bush and others from various parts of Mombasa benefited from a free medical camp on July 28.

Hundreds of people ranging from young to old turned out for the rare opportunity in order to get the medical services offered at the camp organised by the County Government of Mombasa in partnership with Safaricom County Public Health Chief Officer Aisha Abubakar, Chief Officer Department of Youth and Gender Abdirahim Farah and Chief Officer Cultural Affairs Khamis Kurichwa were among the officials who graced the event. 

Locals were screened for Blood Pressure, height and weight; Prostate screening, VCT and at the Beyond Zero Clinic; Cervical cancer screening and family planning. 

 Other services available were diabetics clinic, nutrition, dental, eye clinic services, lab services, and TB screening. 

Sub-county Health Promotion Officer Caroline Agutu sensitized participants on different diseases such as Diahorreal diseases, diabetes, dental diseases, tuberculosis and VCT services. 

She advised them on the need of improving personal and general environmental hygiene. 

Caroline also emphasized on the importance of drinking treated water and hand wash on five different occasions.
