Harambee Stars head coach Sebastien Migne has given an update on winger Ayub Timbe’s availability ahead of Africa Cup of Nations Group C opener against Algeria today.
Speaking during Saturday’s pre-match press briefing flanked by his captain and Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama, Migne said that Timbe could feature in the match but not for 90 minutes.
“For Ayub it’s special because he had a surgery before the competition, it was a race to try bringing him here fit and he showed that in the friendly games,” he said, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
He also said that the time is ready to take on the Riyadh Mahrez side as Kenya seeks to secure a position into the next round.
The match against the Algeria’s Desert Foxes is expected to kick off from 10pm at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.
Migne also said that he will name the starting eleven in due course before the match kick off.On his part, Victor Wanyama said that he is aware of the hard task ahead of them but he is not worried at all. He also reminded the opponents that the Kenyan side will not be a pushover.
“I think there is no pressure. Pressure was there when we wanted to qualify, and now is the time to go out and enjoy ourselves,” said Wanyama
