Walter Nyambati, the former Nyamira governor hopeful filed the petition at the top court protesting Governor John Nyagarama's win during the August 8, 2017 polls.

A section of Nyagarama's supporters, who are in panic mode, said they will accept the outcome.

"The election petition is the reason we have seen limited development in Nyamira. We are ready to respect the ruling though," said Victor Oisebe.

Verah Mokua said she has been living in fear since Nyambati moved to the top court.

"I have not been having peace since Mr Nyambati moved to Supreme court to challenge Nyagarama's election win. I'm confident that once the ruling is made I will continue living in peace," she stated.

Ronald Moenga challenged Governor Nyagarama and his rival Mr Nyambati to accept the court ruling.

"Nyambati and Nyagarama must be ready to accept the court's outcome.

"Nyamira is behind in terms of development due to the court battle. Residents should accept the ruling," said Moenga.
