Coach Hassan Oktay's side cut the gap to Sofapaka at the top of the table to a point as Mustapha and Boniface Omondi scored in quick succession.
They recovered from going 1-0 down to winning the game in the second half to keep up the pressure at the top of the table.
Gor Mahia today travels to Kericho stadium where they face zoo in an early kickoff 3 pm.
Gor Mahia sits third with 32 points in the league table, a point below Sofapaka and Bandari who hold first and second place respectively.
In a pre-match press conference coach Oktay said his teams are always prepared when facing other teams and his players must focus to win anything.
“We are playing against Zoo today and we have prepared well... l believe when other teams face Gor Mahia, they do up their game because they know they are playing against Gor Mahia. Every game for us is always tough but my players know that if they want to achieve anything good, they must take every game very serious. To us, every game is important," said Oktay
Oktay is obviously aware that Kogalo has won four of their last five matches against Zoo drawing one.
