Hours before Fly Emirates plane landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, hundreds of Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama's supporters had convened a meeting at Imara Daima to receive him.
A message from one of communications team officer instructed supporters to report at a Petrol Station ahead of the function.
"Those of us in Nairobi let us meet briefly at Imara Daima to plan for reception of the governor," read the message.
Thereafter, hundreds of supporters lined up at the airport chanting pro-Nyagarama songs at the jovial county boss stepped up from the VIP section.
In the team was Kisii Governor James Ongwae and Nyagarama's deputy Amos Nyaribo, who had mobilised the supporters and county workers.
"We are happy to see you in good health. It was such a long stay but we thank God that all is well now," said Ongwae.
His team thereafter went to Boma hotel where prayers were done and short speeches from those who attended.
The ODM governor will be attending fund drive to offset mortuary bills for his son, Ndemo Nyagarama on Tuesday ahead of Friday's burial in Nyamira.
