A group of Mt Kenya MPs held a night meeting Monday in a Nairobi hotel where a litany of issues was discussed.
The meeting was closely guarded that many media houses never got wind of it.
It went up to the wee hours of the night.
Sources who attended the meeting said there were express orders to not engage media on the subject.
“We have been censored, can’t speak to you on that at the moment,” an MP who attended the meeting said.
Speaking anonymously, another MP said 44 of his colleagues attended the meeting and was chaired by former Meru Governor and Trade Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya.
Laikipia Senator John Kinyua and nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura also attended.
Others were CSs Sicily Kariuki, Margret Kobia and Joe Mucheru attended the meeting.
According to the source, the meeting was a follow-up on the Naivasha meeting where MPs had demanded ‘rightful share for Mt Kenya region’ from President Uhuru Kenyatta before he met them in Nyeri and read the riot act.
The meeting was held at the Hotel La Mada in the city.
The CSs available are said to have told MPs that the ‘boss’ was not happy with the ‘politicking that some people are doing’.
