Deputy President William Ruto has said opposition leader Raila Odinga is plotting to use the handshake to destroy Jubilee.
Ruto hit out at the opposition chief saying he will not allow him to do so.
In a thinly veiled attack, while speaking in Mombasa, the DP said Raila is also scheming to edge him out of Jubilee.
“I was kicked out of ODM like they are now doing to Jumwa and Dori. I went through the same. And I left them but they are following me in Jubilee trying to kick me out using the handshake. I will not allow that,” the DP said.
Ruto was referring to the March 9 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga which saw the latter start participating in the country’s governance.
The DP allies have been reading mischief in Raila’s move and there were mummers immediately Raila made peace with Uhuru that the move is meant to sabotage the DP.
Ruto and his soldiers have also come out guns blazing to oppose plans for constitutional changes as announced recently by Raila.
Political fireworks are also expected after Raila’s allies said he will be in the 2022 presidential race.
