Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed claims that Governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) are plotting to replace him as the Kamba political kingpin.
Speaking during an interview at his Karen home on Saturday, Kalonzo said he has a firm grip in the region.
Kalonzo said there is democracy in Wiper and he doesn’t intend to intimidate any leader.
The Wiper leader also addressed claims that he is a dictator.
He argued that there is freedom of choice in his party hence no one has the audacity to refer to him as a dictator under any circumstances.
“That community is very solid. If anybody wants to challenge me for the Wiper leadership, they are free. We have room for divergent views and this should not be construed to mean rebellion, I have never been a dictator and do not plan to be one,” he said during the interview.
Kalonzo made the sentiments following claims that the trio was considering to find someone better to lead the Kamba nation.
It is alleged that the Ukambani governors believe Kalonzo’s time to lead his people is over.
The speculations became rife after he agreed to be President Uhuru’s errand boy.
