President Uhuru Kenyatta's younger brother Muhoho Kenyatta now says he will visit again Bondo following Sunday's warmth reception at Raila Odinga's home in Nyamira village.
Muhoho, a critical player in presidency, who is usually media shy, showed up at AIC Nyamira in Bondo for the 25th anniversary of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Kenya's First Vice President and Raila's father.
His trip, which came just 12 hours after Uhuru's trip to the lakeside town of Kisumu, was his first at Bondo and to be precise, at Raila Odinga's home.
"In the spirit of our founding fathers, Mr Odinga and Mr Kenyatta have done something that has united the country. This is what our forefathers would have loved. They wanted our country to unite and prosper,” he said.
Mr Muhoho’s declaration that it was his first visit to Bondo took the congregation by surprise.
“Most of you do not know me because I am not a politician. I do business and you only see me once in a while. It is my first time here but I will come back,” he said.
After the congregation, the two in the company of Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju, headed to Oginga Odinga's grave where they laid a wreath before leaving.
Last year in March, Mr Muhoho, his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta and Raila's wife Ida Odinga, are said to her played a critical role in the reconciliation of Raila and Uhuru Kenyatta.
