It was a double win for Albert Bosuben after his World Cup favourite team, Belgium beat England on Saturday to claim the third position.
The win also came as a surprise to the student after he had placed on a live bet without knowing on Eden Hazard to score at any time.
The third-year student at the University of Eldoret revealed that he had deposited Sh12,350 on his betting account and when he later tried to check on the balance, he found none.
So irritated was he that he called on the customer care to inquire about his money only to be told he had placed a live bet with all the money on Eden Hazard to score.
He couldn't believe, but kneeled down and prayed hard that the star scored. At that time, Hazard had the odds of 10.5 to score at anytime meaning he could win Sh129,675.
And it was at the 82nd minute when his anger turned into joy as Eden Hazard found himself in a one on one with England's goalkeeper and didn't disappoint.
"Thank you Hazard... thank you. I was shocked to be informed that I had placed a bet with the money. l will never again repeat the same mistake made," said the joyful student.
The student now plans to open an M-Pesa shop within the campus neighbourhoods so that he can secure steady income with the remaining amount clearing the fee arrears with.
