Wearing a suit makes most men appear sharp and tidy.
However, some men make mistakes when putting on suits, that interfere with their overall look.
Here are some of the basic rules that men should adhere to, when wearing suits, to ensure they remain tidy and sharp.
1. The last button should always stay open
Most suits have two buttons. According to experts, the last button should always stay open.
For those with three-buttoned suits, the middle button should always be buttoned, the upper one is optional while the last one should always remain unbuttoned.
2. Keep the top button of your shirt fastened
The top button of your shirt should be fastened so that your tie fits really well without having to deform the appearance of your neck.
Choose a shirt that won't chock you, or make you feel uncomfortable when you button up to the top.
3. The width of your tie should match that of the lapel
When choosing a tie for your suit, you should ensure the width of the one you pick matches the lapel of your suit.
The lapel is the folded area of your suit on the sides of you chest. The two widths should match.
Do not go for the wide ties when your lapel is slim and again do not go for slim ties when your lapel is wide.
Always remember to unbutton your suit jacket whenever you are taking a seat. This will make you feel more comfortable.
