The zeal and strong desire to achieve in life are deeply ingrained in every one of us.

Nonetheless, it’s human nature to give in to the temptation of doing tomorrow, that which you ought to accomplish today.

Perhaps you have always wanted to write a book, join a gym to shed off excess baggage or even get that promotion at your work place.

But your brilliant ideas get choked to death at the budding stage because of the lack of willpower to start working towards achieving the dream. What is the way forward?

Stop procrastinating and start putting all your best towards achieving that one thing that you want to achieve.

Here are four steps to follow to turn your dreams into reality:

1. Self-improvement

You would love to expand your income streams as well as your career options by getting an additional degree, a course or learning a new skill.

You can function in both roles to keep up and stay relevant in a rapidly changing world.

Yearning to become better every day should be your driving force. You look inside for the hero you are, to get things done, by strengthening your inner energy reserve.

2. Style and fashion

You are addressed the way you are dressed. You do not want to be staring at a wardrobe full of clothes because you have rewound the clothes and nothing seems right anymore.

Based on the nature of your job, invest in your wardrobe accordingly, ensuring that you do not end up spending too much on some clothes you will never need at the expense of those you wear regularly.

3.  Health and fitness

When is the last time you engaged in some physical exercise?  When it comes to eating right and exercising, you fall behind, hoping to resume soon but nothing happens.

You start and abandon the process knowing it is important. You do not need to join a gym or buy expensive equipment.

You can take up morning walks three hours a week, do some push-ups or sit-ups at the comfort of your house and still get the same results in body shape, weight and fitness.

If you are physically active, you are less likely to get heart diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure and other lifestyle diseases.

Regular exercise gives you a clean bill of health, increases your chance to live longer and makes you achieve more.

4. Stick to every goal you set

Statistics on sticking to resolutions are grim.  If you have no sense of direction in life, you are doomed from the start.

What would you say if someone told you saving part of lunch money could get you a pampered holiday at Tropical Island Resort?

Perhaps you would shrug it as a bluff.

You know friends and colleagues at the workplace who have made great strides in personal life, career, business, relationship, health and fitness but not you.  None of them has more than 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week.

A couple of years to come, you will not regret shunning procrastination to make time for self-improvement regimen today.

Your life depends on every goal you set and execute today even when you feel like giving in to the temptation of doing it tomorrow.
