Motorists in Nyamira County have been warned against assaulting police officers manning roadblocks.
Nyamira County Police Commander Catherine Mugo said no motorists will be spared in the crackdown on matatus failing to comply with Michuki rules.
"Police are doing everything possible to ensure PSVs are complying with the set road rules to curb accidents especially during this festive season. Any motorist caught assaulting our officers will be apprehended to face the full force of the law," she noted.
She said motorists fighting police will not benefit them since they will end up in jail.
Ms Mugo reiterated that security officers at roadblocks must inspect every vehicle more especially those ferrying passengers to various parts of the county.
The commander warned bodaboda riders against defying police orders to stop at road blocks to be inspected.
"Drivers and riders must produce licences at road blocks. It has come to our attention that most riders in Nyamira are untrained thus risking the lives of the passengers," said Mugo.
She challenged Nyamira residents not to board matatus and motorcycles which have not complied with the Michuki rules.
