Eldoret East Police Division has a new OCPD. This is after incumbent Richard Omanga was transferred to Kiganjo as an instructor.
John Owuoth who has been serving as the Bungoma Central OCPD will be taking over.
Speaking during a farewell party for Omanga in Eldoret on Saturday, Owuoth promised to work with everyone to ensure maximum security in the area.
"First I want to thank my predecessor for a job well done and I will try to get into his shoes by not tolerating gangsters causing insecurity and individuals selling illegal alcohol," said the new OCPD.
“I will serve residents with dignity and treat them the way I treat my family at home. I will also be solving problems through dialogue and no other means,” he added.
The outgoing OCPD challenged his successor to continue with the fight against illegal alcohol and also maintain security.
He pointed out that during his one year reign at the Eldoret East Police Division, insecurity cases had dropped by over 70 per cent.
