Mutua said he stands a higher chance of succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 than Kalonzo.

Speaking on Radio Citizen on Friday, Mutua said Kalonzo does not have the numbers to win the presidential seat in the  2022 general election.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader said the former Vice President no longer has influence hence should shelve his presidential bid.

"Kalonzo Musyoka should support me because I stand a higher chance of winning the presidential seat in 2022," Mutua said.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap governor said that his development track record puts him at a better place to win in 2022.

"The Wiper leader has been in government for many years but has nothing to show for and that is why he should forget about being president in 2022," Mutua added.

Mutua said the Ukambani region no longer trusts Kalonzo Musyoka.

Mutua and Kalonzo have both declared interest in the 2022 presidential seat.

Governor Mutua said he is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kalonzo, on the other hand, said he has waited for a long time to be president stating that 2022 is his golden opportunity to ascend to power.
