In the changes made on Friday night, Uhuru seems to have given a large section to his allies from Central Kenya, as the DP's allies remain on the outside, reports the Standard.

Also considered are allies of opposition leader Raila Odinga and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, both of whom are currently working closely with Uhuru after their truces last year.

In what is coming out as a punishment to Uhuru's former Mt Kenya allies who have crossed over to the DP's Tangatanga team, some of their rivals have been considered.

Those considered include former MPs Nicholas Gumbo (Chair Kenyatta National Hospital), Joshua Toro (National Irrigation Board) and Franklin Bett (Agricultural Finance Corporation).

Others include Jamleck Kamau (Chair Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority) and Stephen Ngare (Chair National Housing Corporation). The group was gazetted on Saturday morning.

Also considered are allies of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, in what is promising to lead to more political anxiety in the few coming days.

Kalonzo's allies considered include former Kitui Governor Julius Malombe who will chair the Kenya Water Towers Agency and his former Wiper party Chair David Musila.

For Governor Mutua, former Machakos County Speaker Bernard Mungata and Alphonce Kioko have been brought on board, Kioko will chair the Tourism Fund Board.
