Speaking in the company of Deputy President William Ruto in Kajiado on Sunday, the National Assembly Majority Whip accused Raila of having some evil plans regarding the party, hence his decision to remain around after the handshake.

He found it suspicious that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader seems unwilling to continue with his operations as the opposition boss, and is instead making himself comfortable in the Jubilee house.

"After any greetings, people part ways. Instead, he (Raila) comes into your house rather than go to his. What kind of greetings are these?" he was quoted by the Standard.

He called upon the DP to toughen his heart and not be discouraged by the wars being cleverly waged against him by Raila and team.

This was apparently in reference to Siaya Senator and Raila's ally James Orengo's recent impeachment threats.

Washiali laughed off the threat, noting that they have enough numbers in both houses and will easily quash it if tabled in parliament.

He vowed to see to it that nothing of such kind touches the DP.

"I have 217 MPs that will stand with you, Your Excellency," he added.

On his side, Ruto called upon leaders to concentrate on uniting the nation and cease preaching division.
