A woman is recuperating at the Karatina sub-county hospital in Nyeri after her husband allegedly stabbed her 17 times.
Penninah Wangechi was allegedly stabbed by her husband, Samuel Ndirangu after a domestic row on Tuesday night.
Confirming the same, the hospital's medical superintendent Benson Ngari said that the stabs were concentrated on her neck, face, back and chest.
However, he noted that the 30-year-old mother of three was lucky as the stabs were not deep, reports the Citizen Digital on Friday.
The woman said that this was not the first time she was being assaulted, noting that her marriage has been bumpy and the accused has been physically assaulting her.
The suspect is currently being held at the Karatina Police Station after turning himself in.
He has since been remanded at the facility as the police dig deeper into the issue.
