Speaking during the exercise, Turbo Sub County Commissioner (DCC) Mohamed Mobudzo said the machines were nabbed in the ongoing crackdown across the county.

Mobudzo said the move is aimed at protecting the young generations that have been lured into gambling leading to many students to drop out of school in search of quick money.

The gambling machines were nabbed in raids in Kimumu, Munyaka estates and parts of Eldoret town.

“I am giving a stern warning to those people with these gambling machines that we will not relent until all of them are wiped out. Those doing the business should look for an alternative,” noted the DCC.

He, however, called for concerted efforts by all stakeholders to end the illegal business that is ruining lives of the future generation.

"If all of us will join hands and fight gambling machines we will save our families and friends. People need to now that they cannot be rich by gambling instead it only benefits the owner,” said Mobudzo.
