Forget about the five star or high class hotels, there are affordable hotels in town where food prices range from Sh250 to below Sh50. 

Here are the healthy and cheap meals for lunch when you go to  Nairobi's city centre:

Chapati and madondo (beans)

This mixture is endowed with numerous nutrients. For instance, chapatis and beans have carbohydrates and proteins respectively. This mixture is quite affordable with prices ranging from Sh50 to Sh100.

Ugali and matumbo

This is among the delicious and  most favourite meals for many Kenyans. In most affordable hotels in the city, this mixture costs Sh150. As you can see, it is cost-friendly. 

Githeri special

Another cheap meal is githeri special. 

Githeri special is a mixture of beans, maize, cabbage or sukuma wiki and some "waru." The aforementioned foods are laced with varied nutrients. Depending on the type of hotels, the price of this delicious meal ranges between Sh80 to Sh150. 

Ugali and fish

In most hotels found in ghetto and some in Nairobi CBD, this meal ranges from Sh180 and Sh250. Most people disregard it because of its price. However, it is cheaper than ugali-kuku. Thus, if you have Sh200 in your wallet, don't think twice.
