State House Digital Director Dennis Itumbi has been under attack from Kenyans online.
This follows his tweet on Wednesday where he indicated that Deputy President William Ruto's wife Rachel Ruto was in Turkana donating foodstuff to hunger-stricken residents.
However, Kenyans on Twitter discovered that the images he posted had been used again in 2014.
In light of this, a section of varsity students from Eldoret hit out at Itumbi for being dishonest with Kenyans.
“It is so embarrassing to see such a well-respected leader lie to Kenyans publicly. What does he take Kenyans for? How can he afford to joke around and lie about a situation that may be killing people?" asked David Wasilwa a third-year student at Moi University.
"This is extremely shameful and he should apologize to the Kenyans and particularly the people of Turkana,” he added.
Diana Akoko, a student at Moi University questioned how many times the State House Digital Director has misinformed unsuspecting Kenyans.
“If Itumbi could confidently lie to Kenyans about such a situation, how many times has he or any other leader for that matter lied to Kenyans?"
"How are we even supposed to rust our leaders of the head of PSCU who is expected to be completely honest can lie? This is so unfortunate and not only has it affected Itumbi’s credibility but also that of the entire PSCU," retorted the fourth-year student.
Itumbi has since apologised to Kenyans.
