What had begun as a simple verbal argument between the two turned violent within a split of a second.

One of the students, Dennis Kirui had accused his fellow comrade Robert Onyango of caressing his girlfriend at a popular club at the market centre without her consent.

The girlfriend, Mercy Njeri later reported the incident to the boyfriend accusing Onyango of touching her inappropriately.

This resulted in a fierce confrontation between the two students who are first-years.

"Who are you and why have you been touching my girlfriend against her will? She told you not to touch her but you still went ahead to do it," Kirui shouted at Onyango in anger.

Onyango who had been caught off guard could not defend himself, instead, he shouted back claiming the lady had approached him first.

"She is the one who came to me. So if she is your girlfriend don't bring her to a club, leave her at home," he replied rudely.

Angered by the comment, Kirui punched Onyango in the face sparking a fight. Onyango tried fighting back but he got overpowered.

It took the intervention of the lady and a few other students to stop the fight.
