A senator allied to the ruling Jubilee Party has hailed Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya for a job well done at the helm of the Western Kenya county.
Speaking on Radio Citizen's Debe La Citizen Sunday evening, Muranga Senator Irungu Kang'ata admitted that Opraranya's development has surpassed his (Irungu's) county.
He narrated visiting the county recently, and was amazed at how the Governor's achievements, especially in the health and transport sectors.
"I was recently in Kakamega and I loved what I saw. The county leadership has established good health facilities that will be beneficial to the county and the larger Western region," he said.
"There are also good roads which have surpassed the ones in my own county," he said.
The latter was speaking with regards to the push by county bosses to have more money released to the counties from the higher central government.
Oparanya who doubles up as opposition's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) co-Deputy Party Leader alongside his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho is currently ranked among the highest flying county bosses.
He was recently elected to head the Council of Governors (COG) in the capacity of its Chair and has also hinted at vying for the presidency in the approaching 2022 general polls.
