Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) leader Kalonzo Musyoka has applied for his Vice President pension, it has emerged.
Reports indicate that the latter who served as Vice President between 2008 and 2013 has made an application demanding a number of privileges entitled to him.
If successful, the now opposition co-leader will receive a Sh720, 000 lifelong monthly pay, 108,000 in fuel allowance and a lump pay of Sh8.64 million.
According to the Business Daily on Monday, if allowed, the sum will be added on top of the Sh200, 000 pension he is currently earning as the former lawmaker for Mwingi North.
Also in the category is opposition boss Raila Odinga who applied for his Prime Minister's pension earlier in the year, months after the opposition made peace with the state.
Raila had also been receiving a monthly stipend for his former position as the Langata parliamentarian.
Musyoka will also get a medical insurance for treatment both inside and outside the country, which also covers his spouse, as well as three vehicles which will be renewed every four years.
The package will also include the payment of his personal assistant.
If allowed, the payment is likely to pile more pressure on the taxpayer, adding to the nation's already existing financial burden.
